   Venerable Khenchen Parchhimba Dorjee Rinpoche

Venerable Khenchen Parchhimba Dorjee Rinpoche Khenchen Prachhimba Dorjee Rinpoche was born in Kham (eastern Tibet) amidst auspicious signs. Since very early childhood he displayed unusual wisdom, compassion, and inclination towards meditation. At age of three, His Holiness Sera Yangtul Rinpoche recognized Khenchen Parchimba Dorjee as a reincarnation of Padma Dagnag Lingpa - a very high Rinpoche of Nyima lineage. Padma Dagnag Lingpa was a reincarnation of Nupchen Sangye Yeshe, one of the five closest disciples of Padmasambhava. H.H. Sera Yantul Rinpoche prophesied that Padma Dagnag Lingpa was born again as Khenchen Parchimba Dorjee in order to help sentient beings during this degenerate age. Despite the pressures to take over abbot responsibilities at

four monasteries at early age, Khenchen Prachimba Dorje was encouraged by his mother to undergo rigorous study and practice. For 25 years he studied and practiced primarily Buddhist philosophy and meditation but also logic, medicine, astrology, languages, grammar, lexicography, dance and drama. During this time his root teacher H.H. Jigmed Phuntsok Rinpoche provided him with teachings and instructions over a period of ten years at Larung Buddhist University. After receiving his khenpo and khenchen titles, Khenchen Prachimba Dorjee Rinpoche taught debate, astrology, sutra and tantra at many different monasteries and centers in Tibet, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Singapore, China and United States. He also wrote three books on sutra, tantra and a book of songs. Besides teaching and writing, his main efforts have concentrated on building and sustaining an orphanage in Tibet that currently provides accommodation, food, clothing and education to 150 children. To support Rinpoche's efforts, his students recently established AWAM Foundation helping the orphanage and an elder house in the same location in Tibet.
