In
this lecture, Howard C. Cutler, M.D., will discuss key principles for
building greater life satisfaction and happiness, as presented in the
groundbreaking international bestseller, "The Art of Happiness:
A Handbook for Living", written by H.H. the Dalai Lama and Dr.
Cutler. In their book, the Dalai Lama and Dr. Cutler explore themes
related to human happiness from both a Buddhist perspective and a Western
scientific perspective. The Art of Happiness remained on The New York
Times bestseller list for 97 weeks, and has been translated into 40
languages around the world.
In
addition to discussing his collaboration with the Dalai Lama on their
book project, in this lecture Dr. Cutler will identify legitimate sources
of human happiness and offer practical strategies to deal more effectively
with day-to-day problems. Drawing upon traditional Buddhist wisdom as
well as the latest research in the science of happiness and the field
of Positive Psychology, Dr. Cutler will explore methods to help overcome
obstacles and achieve higher levels of personal well being. Following
the lecture, there will be ample time for questions, comments, and discussion.
The
lecture will be followed by a book signing.
