DHARMAKIRTI COLLEGE

A SMALL GIFT CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

Khenchen Prachhimba Dorjee Rinpoche is sincerely asking his students in Arizona for help in providing English course tuition funds for one of his young Tibetan students - Lhundup. Rinpoche thinks this is good investment not only in Lhundup’s future, but also in the future of his orphanage. Lhundup’s sincere wish is to provide help and support in running Rinpoche’s orphanage and elder center for years to come, and Rinpoche has confidence in Lhundup’s intentions.

Lhundup is 18 years old and when he was two his mother died. His childhood was very difficult, but despite that, he has demonstrated good intentions and a wish to help others. Four years old, he started to attend a monastery school and studied there for 8 years. Afterwards, Khenchen Rinpoche has sponsored Lhundup’s studies at His Holiness Dalai Lama’s school in India for almost 6 years to support his talents. Lhundup studied Tibetan language, Sanskrit, debate and painting. Being a first hand witness to the hardship of orphans and elders in his home region in Tibet, Lhundup’s genuine wish is to study English to become a Dharma translator, and to help Rinpoche’s orphanage and elder center.

To help Lhundup in his aspirations, Khenchen Rinpoche arranged with his students in Singapore that Lhundup would be able to study English there. Lhundup would be attending a well-established language school full-time for 21 months, completing 7 levels from starter to proficient. The first level (starter) will cost SGD$ 2,300 and the subsequent levels will cost SGD$ 1,800 each. The total course fee required is SGD$ 13,880 (US$ 9,800) including a one-time application and administration fee of SGD $780. While Lhundup’s living expenses will be provided by one of Rinpoche’s students in Singapore, it is necessary to raise funds for the English course. All the funds need to be accumulated at the beginning of the studies to allow for a student visa permit for Singapore.

If you would like to help, your DONATIONS can go to Dharmakirti and will be tax deductible – please make a note on your donation that it is for Lhundup’s studies. The donations will come to good use that will be multiplied through Lhundup’s activity, and will be dedicated to your good merit.
